Oil painting & sculpture - wood, clay, concrete and bronze. Commissions are welcomed.
My oils are representational and mostly nature based, whereas my sculptures are often abstractions and free form. Many of the marine studies you'll see are either from the Port of Seattle or the Lopez Island marina. The mountain pieces are results of our hiking trips in the Cascade Mountains, which have allowed me time to work in my sketch book. Many of those sketches are taken home and worked into oil paintings, of which you'll find here on this web site.
Art Inspirations: I have wonderful childhood memories of traveling with my grandmother through Europe in the late 1960's. I found myself completely awe struck by all of the sculpture, and somehow, I've just never completely recovered! I consider
N.C. Wyeth, and sculptor Henry Moore, and Michael Angelo among the most inspirational to my work.
Private commissions: Currently I'm working on a private commission for a St. Frances figure - a 10' foot tall sculpture I'll be working on during the summer completing by late fall. If you are considering to commission either a sculpture or painting please contact me at 468-3560
