The First Annual LOPEZ ARTS FEST - June 30 - July 7, 2007
Event Schedule for Lopez Arts Fest MS Word document format
The Lopez Artist Guild will offer all comers a full palette of arts events around the big Fourth of July celebration on Lopez Island in 2007. The many events will include fine arts and crafts, textiles, music, dancing, live performances, writers' reads, kids' art and lots of public participation.
The festival will kick off Saturday June 30th with an exciting circus event in Lopez Center for Community and the Arts and finish the following Saturday July 7th with a Fine Arts Gala, including extraordinary Lopez cuisine and entertainment and a fine arts auction. A percentage of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts.
The icon of the Arts Fest will be that of a Salmon. Renditions will be created by local artists in a wide variety of media, displayed by local merchants and auctioned at the week's concluding Gala. Artists will also take part in the popular Lopez Island July 4th parade, which will be followed in the evening by the spectacular Lopez fireworks show.
The goal of the Lopez Artist Guild is to showcase to a wider public the artistic talent in the San Juan Islands.
