After teaching in public and private schools for 20 years, as well as having spent the last 10 years teaching Art and Humanities to talented young people of middle and high school ages at Spring Street International School in Friday Harbor, my present paintings explore the local beauty of the San Juan Islands. I have found that after teaching a variety of art styles and techniques, my desire to try my own hand at my most favorite passion has come easily. Now with both the time and the energy to pursue painting in earnest, these large acrylic pieces are an exciting new beginning to a journey that reflects my love of the local area and my love of impressionistic art. The use of vibrant colors and my brush-like style is a very personal one that has been evolving since my first work in painting began at Scripps College in Claremont, California as well as my graduate work at U.C.L.A. There I majored in both art and in education, whereby I have equally enjoyed studying and teaching art.

I have been creating pastel, watercolor, and acrylic paintings for commissions for many years now. I have shown my work in many commercial venues both here in the San Juan's as well as in California where I taught and created art earlier in my career. My son is an artist, as well as my sister and my mother. Art is a large part of our lives so it is indeed a pleasure to share these paintings.

Cards can be purchased in Friday Harbor at the "Doctors Office" Coffee shop, near the order counter. The Country Store at Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm, and at Griffin Bay Bookstore.

The home studio will also be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4PM all summer-- where the sign "Imagine Art Studios" will be out on West Valley Road at these times.
